Eero Koivisto, Founding Partner, Claesson Koivisto Rune
Claesson Koivisto Rune was founded in Stockholm in 1995 by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. It started as – and still is – an architectural office, but has since become multi-disciplinary, which in this case means that product design is also practiced with an equal emphasis.
Their work has earned numerous awards, recently including “Designer of the Year 2013-2014” and “Best Seating 2013-2014” both by Elle Décor Italia, “Red Dot Design Award – Best of the Best 2013”, “Floor Covering of the Year 2012-2013” (EDIDA, Elle Deco International Design Awards), “Furniture of the Year 2012” and “Designer of the Year 2011” (Elle Decoration Sweden), “German Design Award (Gold) 2011” by the Federal Republic of Germany and “Best Domestic Design 2010” (Wallpaper). In 2004, Claesson Koivisto Rune were also honoured by being the first Swedish architects ever to be exhibited in the international section of the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Completed architectural projects include: Tind Prefab house for Fiskarhedenvillan, Widlund House private villa Öland, Örsta Gallery building in Kumla, Sfera Building culture house in Kyoto and Nobis Hotel Stockholm.
