Charles Leon, Partner, Leon Black
Charles Leon began his professional career working for the National Theatre and the English National Opera designing stage sets in the UK and abroad. This led naturally into designing for film including several feature productions. Following a spell with an international hotel design company working on luxury hotels he established his own design practice. Two decades later he partnered with Nick Black to form Leon Black.
Leon Black are internationally acclaimed and award-winning designers that specialise in hospitality, residential and wellness interior design and architecture.
Leon is Past President of the BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) and has sat on the All Party Parliamentary Design and Innovation Committee. He also lectures internationally on Design Theory, Branding, Innovation, Emotion and the Workings of the Designer’s Mind. His talks blend design, economics, politics, philosophy and current affairs to provide a new, powerful and persuasive way of understanding the creative mind. He is guest lecturer at Middlesex University, KLC, Inchbald and The Interior Design School. Charles pursues many diverse interests including climbing and Alpinism, writing, sketching, triathlons, philosophy, motorbikes and skiing.
