A discrete recessed headboard reading light, nearly entirely flush, with opening lip feature which enables rotation and automatic light operation. Provides a full range of warm directional reading light. The LED Eye won the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2021.
We wanted to move on the aesthetics of a bedside reading light whilst maintaining all the successful features of function and light output. The starting point was to create a product which was inconspicuous in that it nestled successfully into a headboard and yet was cool and stylish to look at when guests first entered the room. Development led to compact and slim outer vessel which surrounded the ‘eye’, a sculptured cast metal piece which invites the hotel guest to open the eyelid thereby illuminating the light and allowing a full range of movement to create the perfect light spill.
